Muscat – IO Kitchens, Oman’s leading cloud kitchen operator, has announced a strategic partnership with Al Meera to launch the first direct multi-brand outlet at Al Meera Mall in Al Amirat. This initiative marks the beginning of a broader physical expansion across the Sultanate.
Khalid Al Balushi, CEO of Oman National Investments Development Company "Tanmia", stated:
“This collaboration serves as a practical example of Tanmia’s approach to empowering its portfolio companies to achieve sustainable growth and create strategic synergies. Tanmia holds equity stakes in both IO Kitchens and Al Meera. Its investment in IO Kitchens is made through the Tanmia Small-Cap Fund, which was recently launched in partnership with Future Fund Oman, while its stake in Al Meera is a direct investment through a strategic partnership with Al Meera Qatar. This internal portfolio alignment has enabled Tanmia to play a pivotal role in facilitating this partnership between two promising companies. Tanmia believes in leveraging synergies among its investments to drive innovation and maximize economic impact—fully aligned with its vision of enhancing national value creation and capitalizing on high-potential opportunities in the Omani market.”
The opening of this outlet is part of IO Kitchens' vision to strengthen its presence in densely populated areas by offering a fully integrated experience, including dine-in, pickup, and delivery services, all powered by a digitally driven and innovation-based operational model.
Hisham Hasan, Founder and CEO of IO Kitchens, said: "This partnership is a natural extension of our smart expansion strategy and our goal to balance digital infrastructure with direct customer engagement. We’ve built a strong digital foundation, and we’re now focused on expanding our physical footprint to enrich the customer experience and bring us closer to local communities."
He added: "We are reshaping the food landscape in Oman by combining operational excellence with digital innovation. This outlet is the first step in scaling our unique model in carefully selected locations across the country."
The new outlet will feature a variety of IO Kitchens’ brands, including Rice & Spice, Wok Stars, Mad for Mexican, Munchzilla, My Pasta, The Egg Story, Out of the Oven, Sliders by Munchzilla, what a Paratha, and other food concepts inspired by global and regional cuisines. The operating model combines several brands under one roof while preserving the identity, quality, and speed of each concept.
Danish Raza, Regional Manager at Al Meera, commented: "We are proud to launch this partnership with IO Kitchens, a company offering a smart and modern approach to food services. This initiative aligns with our strategy to deliver exceptional experiences to Al Meera Mall visitors and marks the beginning of a promising collaboration."
This collaboration follows IO Kitchens’ successful $2.8 million seed funding round, led by the Tanmia Small-Cap Fund, alongside regional investors and family offices. The investment will support operational expansion, digital platform development, brand strengthening, and strategic partnerships at both local and regional levels.
